Really Real: Authenticity in an Artificial World
Exhibition: June 4 – September 4, 2026
Reception: June 5, 6:30–8:30 PM
Creative Campus Gallery, Hazel McCallion Campus

The annual Walk the Art exhibition is back, showcasing creative works from students across 13 Peel District School Board (PDSB) schools. This year’s theme, Really Real: Authenticity in an Artificial World, inspired students to explore deeper meanings through their art. We’re thrilled to present this extraordinary collection that captures their unique interpretations.
We are currently navigating a world where the word “artificial” is being attached to things that may be physical, material, tangible, and actual to someone else. Artists have always considered what it means to be authentic and original, and this is becoming more of a challenge to discern when we are now living in a world of Al-generated images, filters, deepfakes, and synthetic or artificial personas.
Questions are arising that challenge what is real and how this impacts the individual and society on a greater scale. What is real? How do we know what is real? How does one define what is real to and for us?
This exhibition asks us to consider our realities, and what it means to understand a world that is not real, real, and really real.
