Social Media and Communications Assistant

The Social Media and Communications Assistant will work closely with the Gallery’s curatorial team in a fast-paced environment. They will assist with fostering community engagement at Sheridan College through various social platforms. Be a part of our dynamic team at the Institute for Creativity!

$14/hr for up to 10 hours per week through April 6, 2018

Minimum Requirements:

– This position is contingent upon Work Study approval. Before applying, please confirm your eligibility for Work Study here:
– Must be available on Mondays from 11 am – 4 pm for duration of contract
– Availability on Wednesdays from 11 am – 2 pm an asset
– Knowledge of social media platforms, social media trends, and best practices
– Basic familiarity with Adobe InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop and WordPress with working knowledge of design principles an asset


Responsibilities may include:

– Promoting the Gallery’s exhibition and events via social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
– Documenting the Gallery’s special events for social media platforms
– Maintaining the Gallery’s website via Wordpress
– Monitoring the Gallery and welcoming visitors
– Introducing exhibition concept and highlights to visitors
– Other duties as assigned
