We have two open positions:

1. Social Media, Marketing, and Communications Assistant (Work Study)

Salary: $14.00 Hourly
Job Description: The Social Media and Communications Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment, assisting with fostering community engagement through various digital and print platforms. Suitable for Advertising and Marketing Communications, Creative Writing and Publishing, Marketing Management students. All are welcome to apply.

10 hours per week, starting immediately through December 14, 2018.

Minimum Requirements:

– Knowledge of social media platforms, social media trends, and best practices, particularly in context of Sheridan community
– Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator with working knowledge of design principles an asset
– Research, writing, editing, and communication skills
– Strong ability to work collaboratively and independently to meet production deadlines
– Strong time-management skills
– Attention to detail

Responsibilities may include:
– Working under the supervision of and in close collaboration with the Assistant Curator, produce content and schedule to promote the Gallery’s exhibitions and events via social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook)
– Implement and maintain effective social media communications
– Submit exhibition/program listing to multiple outlets
– Respond to visitor and media requests
– Postering on campus
– Documenting the Gallery’s special events for social media platforms
– Maintaining the Gallery’s website
– Monitoring the Gallery during public hours and welcoming visitors
– Providing docent tours of exhibition concept and highlights to visitors
– Assisting with coordinating and planning events and workshops
– Other duties as assigned

2. Gallery Assistant (Work Study)

Salary: $14.00 Hourly
Job Description: The Gallery Assistant is a front-of-house specialist responsible for welcoming audiences into the Creative Campus Galleries and monitoring our main exhibition space during public hours.

Up to 10 hours per week, starting immediately through December 14, 2018.

Minimum Requirements:

– Strong time-management skills
– Attention to detail
– Customer service experience an asset

Responsibilities may include:
– Monitoring the gallery and welcoming visitors
– Opening and closing the gallery safely to promptly maintain public hours
– Ensuring that the gallery and our exhibitions are presentable, accessible, and inclusive
– Ensuring all electronic materials in the gallery are functioning
– Introducing exhibition concept and highlights to visitors
– Promoting the Creative Campus Galleries and exhibitions via one-on-one interactions with visitors and social media
– Other duties as assigned
